Sergueêï Toutounov was born in 1958 in Moscow into a family of painters. Child, it follows a regular and systematic training in drawing and painting under the guidance of his father, Sergei Andreevich. According to the artist, it was his main teacher. From 1974 to 1980 he studied at the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow where he graduated as an easel painter. In 1982, he married a French woman of Russian origin and comes to settle in Paris.
