The Trinity-Sergius Lavra, Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra is a male Stavropegial monastery founded in the XIV century by St. Sergius of Radonezh (in the world Bartholomew). It is located 52 km from Moscow, in Sergiev Posad. According to historical sources, the future founder of the monastery was born in the spring of 1314 in the boyar family living in Rostov.
