I don't know honestly what the song was meant to be about, but like all great and well written songs it still reaches in to you and you feel the emotions it expresses.Obviously there's a lot about loving someone in this song, but I don't know whether it's longing or losing. It sounds like he dreamed of the girl of his dreams, but the crossroads were the point that they left and he still loved her. But the "stronger current" was another women coming into his life, and all the while he still loved the first women, the millions sun of light are the new hope he's talking about. Whether it's the women, or whatever.But the line of "Forever I'll be here right by your side" seems to tell me 2 things. Either he's saying that to the new love, or as a farewell sort of parting to the past love. Because I don't know about you, but I sure as hell still love my ex's and would care for them if they needed help.So it repeats the chorus and he reflects on the dream and crossroads and such, so that's why I feel like it's about finding new love. In dark moments, in hopeless times, it's the time for those who truely care about you to shine. So maybe it was someone he knew all along that he was realizing he never truely did care about enough.I don't know. Just my thoughts.
