Полная версияABRAHAM'S DAUGHTER - Zouave Soldiers - 1862 -Tom Roush
THIS ISN'T THE 'ABRAHAM'S DAUGHTER' FROM 'ARCADE FIRE'!!! Septimus Winner, a Unionist, wrote this song in 1862 during the American Civil War to inspire more men to join the Union cause. The song is about a volunteer who joins a Union Zouave regiment that is heading to Washington. The Zouave's uniform was unique in color and style from the normal blue Union uniform. It usually included red pantaloons and white or red headdress. Most states, north and south, had Zouave regiments. This song was quite popular during the Civil War.There have been many parodies written to the tune.. One in particular, was used by Bryant's Minstrels called 'Raw Recruits' after the conflict was over. This song can be found on my CD - 'Americana' at: http://tomroush.us/Americana.htm or iTunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/americana/id957955758
