There’s no room for failure. The slightest hesitation or poor mark and they’re disqualified. For most, running 11 kilometers in full military gear, under conditions similar to a real battle, would be unbearable. But for those battling for the right to wear the coveted crimson beret, this is just one of the trials that must be passed with flying colors. They also have to shoot accurately, storm buildings quickly and demonstrate outstanding combat skills.
