There are 34 rock-cut Buddhist, Hindu and Jain temples and monasteries from 7th to 10th centuries at Ellora, with the most amazing being the Kailash Temple. Ajanta, about 100 km away from Ellora, has 29 Buddhist temples and monasteries, built between 2 century B.C. and 5th century A.D. Both sites are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
