MARIE-JOSÉ (Émilie-Thérèse Lhuillier, 1914-2002) a French singer of „Franco-Spanish" origin. As a young, 'singing nurse' arrived in Paris in mid-thirties and had a chance of having contact with Odeon representatives. From the moment of her first recordings, achieved success as an interpreter of an "exotic" repertory largely turned towards tango and samba. Recorded many sides and worked also much in Spain.
