In this video I briefly talk about the Couteau Poignard Modèle 1916 "Le Vengeur" within the scope of the Artillerie Spéciale. One of the most iconic pieces of the tankiste kit in the AS is the Knife Modèle 1916 placed on the left front of the field belt. While it was not common for tankiste to use this knife in combat, many would wear it all the same as a last resort in the event that their tank was knocked out and all the ammunition was expended. Small knives such as this model would gain popularity during the Great War as they performed better in the trenches compared to longer bayonets and other bladed weapons.Now drive me closer!
