    The Tornados - "Timeline" (Сборник)
This video contains excerpts from the A sides of each of the Tornados 14 UK single releases. They appear in chronological order and depicted with each excerpt is the group line-up associated with it. Heinz was still with the Tornados when "Ice Cream Man" was recorded for the film "Farewell Performance" but had left the band by the time it was released as a single in mid May 1963.Roger LaVern, George Bellamy and Brian Gregg were in the band when "Dragonfly" was recorded but had left by the time of it's release.A fan club newsletter was issued in late '63 with information on the band's next single release due out in early February '64. The single was to be titled "Joy Stick / Shakedown". However, when the disc was released it was titled "Hot Pot / Joy Stick", with Joy Stick having the lower matrix number, this normally indicating the A side. "Skakedown" remained unreleased until 2003 when it appeared in the "Ridin' the wind - anthology" double CD.Not featured, because of time, are the singles released by the original Tornados subsequent to leaving the group. "Spacewalk / Goodbye Joe" was released in 1965 under the pseudonym "Gemini". This was issued on the Columbia label.Telstar / Red Rocket was released in 1975. This Telstar was a reworking of the original. It was released on George Bellamy's SRT label. After the release of "Is that a ship I hear" in August 1966 the Tornados continued performing until 3 February 1968, they then disbanded on the first anniversary of Joe Meek's death.Tornados CDs can be obtained from Amazon.Recommended are "The Complete Tornados" double CD containing all 55 of their released tracks, and"Ridin' the Wind, the anthology" double CD, which excludes 2 released tracks (Telstar 75 and Red Rocket) but includes 11 previously unissued tracks. For more info on the Tornados go to Facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/groups/41580838839/Image credits: background images at 1:34 and 4:31 courtesy of Brandter
