the Tornados - Hymn for Teenagers by
The theme of "Hymn for Teenagers" is the troubles and heartaches often associated with a first romance. It was composed by Joe Meek. The track first appeared on the "Away from it all" album released in August 1963. It was also used as the B side of the single "Dragonfly" released in September 1963.Heinz, the Tornados original bass guitarist, left the band before "Away from it all" was completed and so his successor, Brian Gregg, appeared on four of the twelve tracks, "Hymn for Teenagers" being one of them. So images of the Tornados with Brian rather Heinz are used in this video.Brian had worked with Clem Cattini (Drums) and Alan Caddy (Lead Guitar) before, as he and they were three of Johnny Kidd's Pirates of "Shakin' all over" fame. But Brian only stayed with the Tornados for a few months. However, apart from the four tracks he played on in "Away from it all" he also played on all four tracks of the "Tornado Rock" EP.For more info on the Tornados go to Facebookhttp://www.facebook.com/groups/41580838839/Image credit: Image used at 0:01 by brizziebornandbred
