I haven't enjoyed TVD for quite some time now and it's still far from what it was back then.. but I'm so happy the stupid Siren storyline is over. Having Kai back was a reminder of the good old days with fun villains like Klaus and Katherine. Also: "...someone named Klaus Mikaelson." This can't be a coincidence right? Anyway.. again: this isn't technically about Klaroline or Steroline... just the recent developements... ;)● About Steroline/Klaroline: Of course I can't be impartial here but I really feel like the way Steroline is developing is "natural". At least that's what I always imagined would happen somewhere along the road. S8 has given us nothing but reasons why Steroline doesn't work in the long run: Stefan being a ripper, Stefan always putting Damon first, Stefan human/Caroline happy vampire. The only thing thats keeping them together is Carolines determination to make this work no matter what. I do think she loves Stefan (they were BFFs for a reason) but this relationship is build on her loving the IDEA of the two of them being together. And that's why I think this quote about their future is so important: "I never knew and that used to be exciting. Now it just feels misguided." I think she's realizing that she's been going after that for the wrong reasons. "Give her back the life she was meant to have. An immortal life without you." I don't think she can't have Stefan in her life at all (I would love for them to go back to being BFFs) but the first part of the sentence is so true and it's been highlighted in so many episodes now. Care is meant to be an immortal vampire. She's clinging to a lot of things she wanted as a human (the june wedding) but it's time she realized that that's no longer who she is. In other words: just go to New Orleans already!● About Stefan: I do feel bad for some of the stuff Cade said to Stefan. Stefan sure isn't pure evil but it was refreshing to hear Dorians speech about "poor self hating Stefan". I don't hate Stefan but I'm sick of his self pity.
