This was the first place entry to the fourth annual (2012) Jazz Dance Film Fest music video contest.This film was also the winner of the 2014 Jazz Dance Film Fest People's Choice Award -- an online contest of the films from the first five years of the Jazz Dance Film Fest!Description: This video tells the story about two people who meet and hang out together in Ghent. They have a bond because of swing music, authentic Jazz Dance, the people and it's awesome energy and atmosphere.This project originated out of the group that organised 'De Gentse Hoppers Mini Exchange'. We wanted to share the amazing atmosphere evoked by Swing dancing in Ghent. We want to show the atmosphere and energy of authentic Jazz Dance and the atmosphere that vibrates at the 'Gentse Hoppers Mini-exchange'. A team of professionals but mostly enthousiast volunteers was brought together.Sep Vermeersch, one of the organizers of the 'Gentse Hoppers Mini Exchange' festival took responsibility for this video project. He brought together a lot of people. A company: The Vip Factory, an enthusiast director who wanted to make an artistic movie about Authentic Jazz Dance in Ghent, Joris De Bock and Camera men, Quinten Prinsen. The people in this movie are three actors (Helena Verheyen, Sep Vermeersch and Jan Schaeken) and the enthousiast participants of the 'Gentse Hoppers Mini Exchange'.All Four danceschools from Ghent: Apollo Swing, Danshuis De Ingang, Crazy Legs Dance School and Ivan Van Wassenhove + Casablanca Party (social dances and party's) / SmartBe (social bureau for artists) supported the project.All partner could add ideas to the project, because of using an open structure. Evolution and ideas where shared trough open documents and talking . Even on the facebook group a forum was created where everyboy could add ideas about Ghent, dancing and the video project. A small documentary will follow as well.
