The freedom to create virtual areas of speculation has always proved to be a dangerous weapon, and by the time the boom goes into burst, it's already too late for many, while at the top of "the food chain" the sharks are ready to "absorb" the smaller fish and their share of the market. And it is thus that we go from one crisis to the next, endlessly, while capital polarizes around the same few groups. Just one of many examples of what scholars such as Naomi Klein have defined "disaster capitalism".
