Полная версияRiccardo Barthélemy : Sérénade Coquette
The Italian composer Riccardo (or Richard) Barthélemy (1869-1937) is the only Olympic gold medallist whose music is represented on this channel! In the 1912 Stockholm Olympics, medals were given for artistic as well as sporting endeavours, and Barthélemy won gold for his "Marcia trionfale olimpica"! He was born in Smyrna, Turkey, but studied in Naples, and later became an accompanist for Caruso (for whom he also wrote some songs - recorded by him, but alas not with Barthélemy at the piano). This very Italian piece, published in 1905, is full of charm.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Played by Phillip Searhttp://www.psear.co.uk
