Set in the picturesque valleys of Kashmir, Arti believes that Suraj and their love, is a rare and precious thing. Equating it to a pearl, she believes that this rare one cannot even be found in the depths of the sea. 'Pighalta Aasman' is the story of Delhi-based businesswoman Arti Singh Rathod (Rakhee), who lives a wealthy lifestyle along with her grand-mother and friend and employee, Anuradha (Rati Agnihotri). She decides to travel to Kashmir and take possession of a piece of land that is being occupied by Suraj Arora (Shashi Kapoor). Once in Kashmir, Suraj and Arti fall in love with each other.
