More info on the Serif TV on the Samsung website - https://www.samsung.com/global/seriftv/uk/index.htmlI have a brand new 40 inch and 4K Serif TV by Samsung and have created my first unboxing video! This isn't a detailed review but a quick unboxing video to give you an idea of what's in the box and how the Serif TV looks.Tech specs can be found here: http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/serif-tvs/serif-tvs/UE40LS001AUXXUThe Serif TV has been designed to be more like a piece of furniture than a generic modern TV you'd hang on the wall. It's 4k 40 inch TV with Smart TV including all the apps you'd ever want, YouTube, Amazon Video, Netflix, 4oD, BBC iPlayer etc.It also has Freeview and the ability to use it as a Bluetooth speaker, useful for my open plan flat.Designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec were tasked with creating the Serif TV. As well as the unique physical design they've also created a unique experience for Samsung's Smart TV interface that features a mellow "curtain mode" with a filter over the TV programme that currently showing. From the interface you can access TV, apps, photos and a clock mode. It's really easy to use, simple and straightforward. It's not often you'll find beautifully designed interfaces on modern TV's.The back of the TV has nicely patterned piece of material that sticks to the set with magnets. This means you can funnel power cables and aerials in groves in the plastic casing before they appear at the bottom of the set and run down the TV's leg (if it's on legs). Cables can be kept tidy as the run down the Serif legs by two plastic cable holders that come with the set.The Serif TV also has a USB port that you can connect an external hard drive to in order to record TV shows. Although not critical, I would have liked to have seen some extra space designed at the back of the set for a small hard drive to fit.I really love the way the TV looks, it fits in well with retro furniture and flat. Rather than just being a TV, it actually makes the place look great and adds a focus. Some people will hate it and others will absolutely love it, it's fair to say I'm the latter. The 4k, 40 inch Serif TV retails around £1199 in the UK.Samsung Serif TV website - https://www.samsung.com/global/seriftv/uk/index.htmlSerif TV twitter account - https://twitter.com/SerifTVDesigners Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec explain their vision behind Serif TV -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61zHAXlLV6YThe Serif TV has been available for purchase in the UK, France, Sweden, and Denmark from November 2nd 2015 and will go on sale in the US (no date as yet). You can find me here...Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/travmonkeyInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/travmonkeySnapchat: TravMonkeyWebsite: http://www.travmonkey.comEmail: editor@travmonkey.com
