One of these monuments - the settlement Unorozh in Galichsky area, which reflects the cultural and historical processes era "early Iron Age", trade and economic relations of the Kostroma region of North Rus, Scandinavia and eastern lands in the IX-XI centuries., Receives historical development in ancient period (XII-XIII cc.). Archaeological research Unorozha allow to study traces of prehistoric man, to highlight features of cultural interaction in the early Iron Age, ancient Russian and Merya population - in the Middle Ages, to get ideas about the place of the region in the international fur trade IX-XI centuries, the time of formation of Russian statehood and monastery landownership XIV -XVIII centuries.
