This is the original theme to the 1978 horror film Halloween directed by John Carpenter starring Donald Pleasence, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Tony MoranWhen the film was originally shown to a 20th Century Fox executive prior to it's release on October 25th, 1978, there was no soundtrack. According to Carpenter, "she was not scared at all". The story, the character Michael Myers, and the overall feeling of terror the film was meant to portray was forgettable at best. A few weeks later, a very musically challenged Carpenter, who claimed he couldn't read or write a single note of music, composed a soundtrack with the help of Dan Wyman, a music professor at San Jose State University."About six months later I ran into the same young executive who had been with 20th Century Fox (she was now with MGM).
